Cyprus was an important base for the Islamic Sufi Order from Konya after religious orders were forbidden in Turkey from 1923 until the 1950s, there is a Sufi community existing in Lefke, which was founded by Sheick Nazim Kibrisli. Another branch of the Sufi Order is the Whirling Dervishes - and one of our friends and partners, whose name is even Dervish (!), shows an amazing modern interpretation of the traditional meditation, where the dervishes were connecting heaven and earth with their turning performance.

 The venue of this performance is in the Northern part of Nicosia, only 100 meters from the Ledra Street/Lokmaci checkpoint. If you you from the South direction, after the Turkish Cypriot checkpoint you turn to the right at the first possibility (there is a WC sign pointing to the right). After 30 meters on the right, there is a building with white window frames - the door is open, so go to the first floor - and enjoy the performance!
